Who this applies to

This policy applies to everyone who uses the Saolabs website, our services or our technology. That includes customers and their users, experts working on projects, and visitors.

If you have a signed agreement with Saolabs, this policy forms part of it. Where the agreement sets more specific rules, those rules apply.

Illegal and abusive content

You may not use our website or services to create, upload, store or share content that is illegal or abusive.

  • Content that breaks any applicable law or infringes another person's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights.
  • Content that harasses, threatens, bullies or promotes violence against any person or group.
  • Content that is hateful or discriminatory on the basis of a protected characteristic.

Child sexual abuse material

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any such material is prohibited in all circumstances, including in data supplied for labelling, evaluation or red-teaming.

We will remove it, end the relationship and report it to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children where required.

Security and technical misuse

You may not interfere with the security or operation of our systems or anyone else's.

  • Uploading or distributing malware, viruses or other harmful code.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to systems, accounts or data.
  • Scraping, crawling or harvesting data from our website or services in violation of these terms, robots.txt or any technical limits.
  • Overloading or disrupting our infrastructure, for example through denial-of-service attacks.
  • Probing or testing our systems for vulnerabilities outside our responsible disclosure process at /security.

Privacy and anonymised data

Project data is often anonymised or pseudonymised to protect the people it relates to. You may not attempt to re-identify any individual from anonymised or pseudonymised data, or combine data sets to do so.

You may not collect or use personal data in ways that break data protection law or our privacy policy.

Harmful uses

You may not use our services to develop, design or obtain weapons or other means of causing serious harm. That includes chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive weapons, and cyber weapons intended to cause damage.

You may not use our services to plan or carry out activity that could cause serious physical, financial or psychological harm to people.

Expert conduct

Experts are trusted because their credentials and skills are real. Misrepresentation undermines the quality of the data our customers rely on.

  • Do not misrepresent your identity, qualifications, experience or credentials.
  • Do not have someone else complete assessments, work tests or project tasks for you.
  • Do not use unapproved tools, including AI tools, on project work where a project's guidelines prohibit them.
  • Do not share confidential project data, guidelines or customer information outside the project, including on social media or with other AI services.

Red-teaming and authorised adversarial work

Some projects involve deliberately probing AI systems for unsafe or harmful behaviour. Adversarial testing performed by Saolabs experts under contract is authorised work within the agreed scope.

That work must stay within the project's written scope, guidelines and safety controls. Outputs must be handled as confidential project data and must not be used for any purpose outside the project.

Enforcement

If we believe this policy has been breached, we may investigate, remove content, suspend or end access, withhold payment for work affected by the breach where an agreement allows, and report matters to the authorities.

We aim to act proportionately and, where appropriate, give you the chance to explain.

Reporting a concern

If you see something that breaks this policy, please tell us. Security vulnerabilities should be reported to security@saolabs.ai.
